Gerry Spahn

Thanks to his experience in executive roles in New York, Tokyo, and Paris, Gerry shares his experience with clients as an advisor for companies, media, and investors. Four tenets for the core of Gerry’s practice.

  1. Engage in the kind of two-way communication that involves not only talking, but active listening in order to produce valuable information for all stakeholders.
  2. Listen to the question and examine the underlying concerns.
  3. Think about why someone is asking a specific question. Whether it’s a reporter or hedge fund analyst, you may learn things your own people may not be willing, or are afraid, to share.
  4. Know that you're talking about while you're talking. As head of investor relations for Nissan and Renault, his firsthand line operational duties—serving on a management committee, overseeing IT projects, and managing restructuring efforts—gave him the credibility that every IRO or corporate communications leader seeks.

Currently, Gerry is the principal in his New York based consulting practice which helps investors understand developments in the auto and industrial sectors, and teaches companies how to explain their business to the markets and press. He lives in the New York area with his wife who is a fashion/beauty PR maven, and their two fantastic kids.
