Alex Stombres

Alex Stombres was born and raised in Saint Charles, IL and is entering his third year at Elmhurst College. He is a double major in both music education and jazz studies. Jazz has been his calling for many years. He in the jazz band at Elmhurst College, where he has won an outstanding soloist award at the Elmhurst College Jazz Festival. He has traveled to Serbia to play with the band and has most recently recorded a CD with the jazz band to be released this fall. He hopes to play professionally along with teaching High School music when he graduates from Elmhurst. Alex is also a 2011 Golden Apple Scholar. He hopes to bring all his knowldege he has gained from this program to all the students he encounters in his teaching career.
