Denise Lawson has been a respected voice for the radio and print news industries for over a decade. As a journalist, Lawson is a recognized face on music tours, album and book release events, red carpets and backstage.

She began her career in communications at 103.9 WDKX Radio (Rochester, NY). She was an on-air personality with no background or education in broad journalism, yet it was her “personality” that compelled the PD to give her the mic. A six-month internship culminated into her own Sunday afternoon show, “Miss Denise & The Jam Squad” - broadcast “live from the street.” This assignment would make her the “community face” for the station. Less than 2 years later, she moved from freelance writer to Managing Editor of the multi-genre industry trade publication, Behind the Scenes Magazine and co-host of its weekly syndicated radio show, “Behind the Scenes Gospel” (Buffalo, NY).

Later, she worked with Gospel Truth Magazine, (Houston, TX) as managing editor and editor-at-large – creating in-depth coverage of great pastors, artists, producers, radio talent, politicians and business leaders. Lawson was the host of ”Gospel Truth News,” which aired on “Rejoice Musical Soul Food,” among others. During that time, she wrote for various print and online pubs including About…Time Magazine. She was also the frequent guest editor for NV – the New Vision in Business (New York, NY).

Previously, Denise was the publisher of Ingospelthisweek.com. She produced and hosted radio’s “The In Gospel This Week Show,” and “In Gospel This Week News;” airing in key markets, such as Atlanta, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. Her newsworthy style has made her a Twitter and Facebook “follow favorite.”
