I am an enthusiastic individual punctuated by my interests in both business and technology. After graduating the University of Maryland with dual degrees in Computer Engineering and Marketing, I worked for retail analytics software company Applied Predicitve Technologies (APT). Wanting to try something new, I moved on to work for energy efficiency software start up Opower.
While at Opower myself and some others entered an international, weekend long programming competition. We made an online drawing game which we called Doodle or Die, and won first place for most fun! This prompted me to take the leap into entreprenuership where I am working on Doodle or Die as well as a few other projects.
Able to work from anywhere, I spent a year in beautiful Ouray, Colorado. There I volunteered teaching web development to middle school and high school students, helped local non profits, and mentored other startups at the Telluride Venture Accelerator.
Myself, another Telluride Venture Accelerator Mentor, and one other organized Telluride Startup Weekend. Despite organizing, I also took advantage and participated. Frusterated by the terrible experience and poor results delivered by current online customer intercept survey sollutions, we created LightningPoll. Customer feedback made shockingly simple!
I've joined some former colleagues from past jobs, as well as a bunch of new great folks, at the online media company Video Blocks. It was ranked as the 32nd fastest growing technology company in the US/Canada, and the 2nd fastest growing technology company in the DC region by Deloitte for the Fast500. Powered by a team of great people, how could I not want to jump on board?
Presently I am in Philadelphia while my wife attends school here.
When I'm not programming, you can find me rock or ice climbing, hiking in the mountains, or behind the controls of a small plane trying to avoid flying into them!
