Adel Gabot is a freelance writer/editor based in the Philippines. He contributes to the Philippine Daily inquirer and other publications, and was Copy Chief for ABS-CBN Publishing. He was Editor-in-Chief of Manual, Images, Pinoy Rider Extreme and M/PH, and guest EIC'ed for the Philippine editions of Golf Digest, PC Magazine and Maxim. Adel also teaches writing, and used to teach a post-graduate course on Magazine Writing & Publishing at the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde’s School of Professional & Continuing Education. In creative writing, Adel’s fiction has won him accolades, including a Carlos Palanca Award for Literature for Short Fiction in 2000. Adel writes fiction whenever he can. He used to be an FM radio DJ named Little David for almost two decades, eventually rising through the ranks to become president of the broadcasting company he worked for. He loves Apple stuff, like Macs, iPhones and iPads, and he also loves his Kindle Paperwhite and his Panasonic LX5 camera. He likes to read and watch movies, specially sci-fi, old Sean Connery 007 films and the occasional horror potboiler. He admires people named Steve, or variants thereof, like the late Steve Jobs, Steven Spielberg and Stephen King. Adel also loves Ma Mon Luk mami and siopao, his video games, green tea ice cream, Aeropressed coffee and a good Merlot.
