Alex Bankhead

Alex Bankhead, DDS, owns and operates Utah Valley Periodontics & Dental Implants, a private practice in Orem, Utah. His practice focuses on the treatment of gum disease as well as cosmetic periodontics including implants. Since he opened the practice in 1997, Dr. Alex Bankhead has placed more than 13,000 dental implants.

After studying zoology at Weber State University, Dr. Alex Bankhead earned his dental degree from Creighton University’s School of Dentistry. He then pursued certification as a specialist in periodontics by enrolling in a three-year residency at the Medical Center at the University of Nebraska. In addition to that certification, he also earned a master of science with a thesis on the topic of human bone regeneration.

In addition to his work in his practice, Dr. Alex Bankhead has shares his expertise in surgical techniques related to periodontal disease and implantology through both live clinical demonstrations and videotaped presentations. He has also regularly lectures on dental implantology and periodontics.

Dr. Bankhead belongs to several professional organizations, including the American Association of Periodontology and the American Dental Association. In addition, he participated in the founding of the Pinnacle Dental Study Club of Provo, Utah. Dr. Bankhead enthusiastically supports several charities, especially those devoted to children’s dental health such as Give Kids a Smile.
