Enrolling at Pace in 2007, Goncalves began taking classes at the Joseph I. Lubin School of Business, where he immediately distinguished himself as a diligent and motivated student. Selected for the Dean's list throughout his freshman year at Pace, Andrew Michael Goncalves started a trend of scholarship that would endure throughout the rest of his undergraduate career.

In tandem with his studies, Goncalves helped found and went on to serve as Secretary of the Pace Investment Club, a stock market-focused student organization that drew 40 members campus-wide. Andrew Michael Goncalves later became a Peer Leader with the Challenge to Achievement at Pace Program, in which he helped fellow underclassmen adapt to the rigors of college life and thrive in their new surroundings. As a further testament to his outstanding leadership, Goncalves was elected President of the Pace Finance Club and served in this role during his senior year.

Off campus, Andrew Michael Goncalves completed an intensive summer internship with Merrill Lynch's Global Wealth Management division, where he handled various customer service responsibilities, supported employees in new client acquisitions, and began to develop a solid technical skill set. The following summer, Goncalves traveled to Portugal and interned with Banco Português de Investimento, during which time he continued to build experience in international investment banking, website management, and competitive research. Named to the Beta Alpha Psi international business honor society, Andrew Michael Goncalves graduated from Pace with his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 2011.
