Bankole Johnson

A highly respected physician, Dr. Bankole Johnson currently serves as the chairman of ADial Pharmaceuticals, the research and development firm he founded in 2008. Dr. Johnson, who holds a number of professional certifications throughout the United States and Europe, is well known as a leading medical researcher in the pharmaceutical treatment of addiction. Over the course of his career, he has held professorships and academic appointments at the University of Virginia, the University of Texas, and Oxford University.

In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Johnson simultaneously serves as a member of the Extramural Advisory Board for the NIH/NIAAA and was a consultant for the NIH roadmap. He has consistently made the yearly list of the Best Doctors in the United Kingdom since 1991.

Prior to commencing his career, Dr. Johnson earned a medical degree and a doctorate in biomedical sciences from Scotland’s University of Glasgow, a master’s degree in neuro-psychiatry from England’s University of London, and an American Board of Forensic Medicine diploma from the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute. In 2004, Dr. Bankole Johnson received the highest scientific graduate degree in the United Kingdom, a doctor of science (DSc), from the University of Glasgow.
