While at the Library of Congress, Carey Hagan designed and taught a course for librarian staff about using the web-based Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) service. She also redesigned the library’s existing research and database courses. After leaving the Library of Congress, Carey Hagan began working part-time as a Cataloger at The Catholic University of America’s Mullen Library. In that capacity, Carey Hagan performed research, cataloged original items, maintained databases, and used OCLC programs like Connexion and WorldCat. Carey Hagan has spent six years working at the Mullen Library. In 2006, Carey Hagan also began working at her current job at the Fairfax County Public Library (FCPL) system as a Librarian.
