Catherine Fitzsimons

Firstly, thanks for clicking here to read more about me! I am passionate about helping people discover their true potential through coaching and mentoring. During my formal school years, I was not so keen on learning and struggled academically simply because I was not engaged with the usual subjects. When I finished school, I did what most girls in the early 80's did and took a commercial course in Rathmines. By the 90's, I found myself very intersted in human development and the world of psychology that led me to be awarded a diploma in counselling from Maynooth. In the early noughties I became very interested in the internet and the online world of cyberspace-this interest led me to pursue more awards from Microsoft and a teaching dip in IT. In tandem I was still pursuing human development, which led to awards in both human resources and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), I studied with the IINLP (Irish Institute of NLP) and because an accredited coach. Shortly afterwards I followed up with a BBS (HONS) degree awarded from IT Tallaght. Since then, I have an accredited mediator with FriaryLaw specialising in employment and family law. Currently I am studying with the IPA (Institute of Public Administration) for an MSc in Business and Management which is expected in early 2014 and awarded from UCD.
On a personal level I am a mother of two sons and currently have two grandsons with a granddaughter due in October 2013 and another grandchild in 2014. Life was not always fair to me but despite my humble upbringing and identity loss when I was 18, I am a survivor, a glass half full individual who turns challenge into opportunity. Over the last few years the financial crisis has challenged me not only because of redundancy but because I suffered medical negligence that deformed me; causing huge emotional pain that had me suicidal. Obviously, I chose to live and use my energy to help others. I do this by helping victims of abuse, I am also a sponsor for Radio Active, an online radio channel promoting charities for FREE. I also help SME's gain attention on Twitter by networking opportunities every Monday night from 9-11pm and Friday morning from 7:30-9am using #M50BizHub in your tweet. Please feel free to connect with me.
Whether you think you can, or you can't; you're absolutely right.
