Catherine Fitzsimons

I’m very pleased that you have taken an interest in reading more about me.

I’m very passionate about people development and unlike most coaches I take a lot of experience from my turbulent personal history that adds value to the work I do. I always enjoy a challenge and helping people and businesses refine their current strategies is very rewarding.

I have recently completed an MSc in Business and Management (HRM) which is obviously a new high for me since I had no interest in learning during my formal school years and grew up considering myself a dunce though I did complete my leaving certificate. Following that I took a secretarial course which is what most girls did in the 80’s. By the 90's, I found myself very interested in human development and the world of psychology which led me to an award in counselling from Maynooth. In the early noughties I became interested in the internet and the online world of cyberspace, this interest led me to pursue more awards from Microsoft and a teaching dip in IT. In tandem I was still pursuing human development, which led to awards in both human resources and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), I studied with the IINLP (Irish Institute of NLP) and became an accredited coach. Over the last few years I have used my skills in mediation and am currently a member of the Mediation Institute of Ireland.

On a personal level I am a mother of two sons and currently have three grandsons and a beautiful granddaughter. Life has been quite a rollercoaster for me like most people’s lives however the glass half full notion is my mantra which has helped me survive some tough knocks and emerge stronger. I am currently testing my abilities as a radio host on Radio Active Ireland – a charity supporting radio station. I work part-time as a business lecturer and balance that with building the Fresh Thinking brand…. Please visit www.freshthinking.ie or connect with me on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Whether you think you can, or you can't; you're absolutely right.
