Catonia Whalen (DJ Catskillz) is a New York City-based DJ who's had gigs and residencies all over Manhattan & Brooklyn including her current weekly gigs at Swift Hibernian Lounge and Lavender Lake.

DJ Catskillz's passion for music blossomed in high school from listening to her twin brother's rap collection of Run DMC, Ice-T & Beastie Boys, and from stealing Blondie and Prince vinyl from her parent's album collection.

She started as a Disc Jockey on commercial radio at 19 and that same year she began spinning vinyl at her college campus bar in her native homeland of Canada. She has continued to DJ while working as an executive in the music business in Toronto and New York.

She spins at various charity, holiday and special events including DOC NYC Visionaries Tribute, Speakeasy Music & Tech Mixer, the WIM Annual Holiday Party, and a few Lollapalooza after parties in Chicago. Plus she has done many private birthday and wedding events. She spun an after party for The Hold Steady after their sold-out annual residency at Brooklyn Bowl and she also opened for legendary Wu Tang leader RZA at City Winery.

She is known for spinning an eclectic yet cool mix of new & vintage: *alternative*brit pop*indie rock*new wave*electro*dream pop*hip hop.
