Charles Besser, who founded Intersport more than 25 years ago, exhibits a tireless approach to growth and innovation. Serving as the company's president and chief executive officer, he has lead the company from sports programming into the world of general entertainment media, as well as sports marketing on a grand scale. Charlie Besser's work within the world of digital media has received many accolades in recent years.

Besser directed two separate but wildly successful projects for Intersport in 2007. The first was the development of the company's CelebTV.com, its foray into the world of entertainment media. The site itself, which has received more than 1 billion hits, is devoted to many elements of the entertainment industry. It emphasizes fashion, movies, and other popular subjects. Besser's vision lead to the creation of 40 original programs, all of which are in syndication around the globe. That same year, the company partnered with Sprint mobile networks, developing four exclusive channels for broadcast on its phones. This innovation, spearheaded by Besser, received numerous Emmy awards, as well as other areas of industry recognition, for their innovation and excellence.

In 2008, Besser began yet another endeavor: 20 West Productions, an Intersport division tasked with the creation of general entertainment. These productions have aired on many top-tier cable networks, including the History Channel and MSNBC. The production company's programs include a show about law enforcement, and a program related to the world of health and wellness.

Charlie Besser graduated from Marquette University, where his athletic prowess earned a McCahill Award. As a resident of Chicago, he supports his community in numerous ways, including sitting on the Board of Directors of Chicago's Young Men's Club of America (YMCA) and donating to the Joffrey Ballet.
