During his time as a student at New York University College of Dentistry, Charles Silk, D.D.S., took time away from studying in the field of his chosen profession and literally took to the field while playing football. Silk also played basketball while in college and enjoys skiing. Dr. Silk’s love of skiing has taken him to Switzerland and New Zealand to explore the slopes. Silk likes to ski at Hunter Mountain in his home state of New York and sometimes attends skiing shows to offer support by donating funds to the Hunter Mountain Ski Team, which is based in upstate New York. In addition to being a professional prosthodontist, a dentist who specializes in cosmetic and restorative work, Dr. Silk is a former professional basketball player, having shot hoops as a member of the Macabiah Basketball Team and competing internationally. Charles Silk’s other athletic hobbies include biking and swimming. His dedication to health is also exemplified by his pro bono work. Dr. Charles Silk helps raise funds for breast cancer research as well as participates in breast cancer awareness campaigns. Silk also donates his time and services at the health center at New York University. Dr. Silk graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 1983 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery in tow. In his spare time, Charles Silk enjoys traveling with his family.
