Dallas Burgess

Dallas “BlakJak” Burgess started embracing Hip Hop at the age of 5 years old. It was an escape from a rural poverty-stricken environment, says BlakJak. It also brought urban culture to a undiversified south. I did it (rhyming) in show and tell in kindergarten, I had no toys to show off, and nothing exciting to talk about so I started rapping Run-DMC's verse, “I'm the king of rap there is none hire sucka Emcees they call me sire I burn like fire”... and when I forgot the words I'd fill in the blanks so I wouldn't have to sit back down. My class loved it! Coming up BlakJak entered the streets at an early age being raised by "hustlas" and "boot leggers" in the South he played his part in the struggle. After serving six years for a shooting charge in N.C. Department of Corrections, he vowed when he left prison to become a "Voice for the Voiceless" brothers he left in the prison system, and this marked the beginning of the artist now known as “BlakJak Burgess” …more to come in the futu
