Dan New is a K-9 Assistant Principal at Prince of Peace Lutheran school in Chestermere, Alberta. Prince of Peace Lutheran is a public Christian school, which is part of the Rocky View School Division. Dan received his Bachelors of Education from the University of Alberta with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Technology. He holds a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Lethbridge, with his research focused on personalized learning and High School Redesign. As an educator, Dan focuses on creating educational environments where communities of students construct their own understanding through content creation and discovery. Dan has served as an Educational Technologist, co-authored university textbook materials on educational technology, published several peer reviewed journal articles on personalized learning, and is a member of the Apple Distinguished Educator Class of 2013.
