Dawn Haynes is Principal Trainer and Consultant for PerfTestPlus, Inc. Dawn's unique style blends her varied experience and humor to share practical, implementable approaches to addressing common and complex software development and testing challenges. Her proven effectiveness at providing practitioners at all levels with a broad spectrum of methods and techniques to help expand their toolsets has resulted in international recognition as an elite trainer of testers. Dawn provides mentoring, coaching and consulting services, and is frequently invited to speak at testing conferences, peer conferences, local testing groups and intimate gatherings of testers. She has more than thirty years of experience supporting, administering, developing and testing software and hardware systems—across startups, small business operations, high-tech companies and large corporate enterprises.

Dawn holds a Bachelor's Degree in Management of Information Systems, with a minor in computer programming, from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Dawn served on the board of the Association for Software Testing (AST) as a Director and Secretary, and now is a lifetime member volunteering time to help plan and support logistics at CAST, an annual testing conference. Dawn is also a founding member of the International Society of Software Testers (ISST) looking to broaden her collaboration with members of the context-driven testing community worldwide. Dawn maintains memberships with the ACM, ASTD, ASQ and IEEE to keep up with industry trends, active research, publications, and gain access to a broader network of people and ideas.

Dawn is a continuous learner across many domains and participates in programs to improve her professional skills regarding public speaking, training and instructional design, testing methodologies, and new technologies, as well as less technical pursuits like skiing, billiards, floral design, bass guitar, piano, figure skating, jewelry making, yoga, Reiki, Tai Chi, and bartending.

Dawn is a contributing author of the book "Quality Web Systems: Performance, Security & Usability", and seeks to find ways to advocate for better testing everywhere while trying to make the industry a better place for testers to flourish.
