Dean Tozer

Throughout his career in organizational and product development, Dean Tozer achieved success in commercializing biopharmaceutical products in a number of challenging markets. Most recently, as Vice President of Corporate Development for the Regenerative Medicine division of Shire Pharmaceuticals, he successfully created one of the first global businesses in this emerging healthcare sector. Responsible for both growth and operating strategies, Dean Tozer developed a comprehensive 10-year strategic plan, targeting all areas of product and organizational development while also actively pursing additional company/product acquisitions on behalf of Shire.

Dean Tozer came to this position following Shire's acquisition of Dermagraft, a formerly failed product that he had redeveloped and relaunched on behalf of its previous owner, Advanced BioHealing. Appointed to this task by the company's CEO, he had previously commercialized a number of biotech and pharmaceutical products for different clients on a consulting basis. Early in his career, he led various global commercialization and business design projects for Monsanto Corporation and Searle Pharmaceuticals. Although he continues to serve the biopharmaceutical industry as a consultant, Mr. Tozer balances those responsibilities with his role as an Operating Partner in the growth equity fund HighCape Partners.
