Dr Alan Binkley

For more than two decades, Dr. Alan Binkley has been practicing orthopaedic medicine at his private practice in Dahlonega, Georgia. Additionally, Dr. Alan Binkley holds surgical privileges at the Northside Forsyth Hospital and the Chestatee Regional Hospital, where he served as Chief of Staff in 1999.

Prior to launching his career, Dr. Alan Binkley earned his Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from the University of Western Ontario and then remained at the school to complete his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. Dr. Binkley went on to receive his Medical degree from McMaster University and completed a Surgical Internship at the University of Western Ontario. Following this, Dr. Binkley returned to McMaster University to perform an Orthopaedic Surgical Residency. Dr. Binkley completed his professional training at the Chedoke-McMaster Hospital where he performed an Arthoplasty and Arthoscopic Orthopaedic Surgery Fellowship.

As an active member of his professional community, Dr. Alan Binkley is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, as well as a member of the Medical Association of Georgia, the American Medical Association, the Canadian Medical Association, and the Canadian Orthopaedic Association. Over the course of his career, Dr. Binkley has delivered numerous presentations on such subjects as locked knees, patellar tendon changes following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, and staged vs. simultaneous total knee replacements.

Out of a dedication to helping those in need, Dr. Alan Binkley works with a number of charitable organizations. He serves in an advisory role to Turning Point Women's Healthcare. Furthermore, he is a member of the Board for the Community Helping Place Free Medical Clinic. Dr. Alan Binkley has also acted as a surgical volunteer for several Christian missionary groups in Haiti, Venezuela, and Mexico.
