Dr. James Chmiel

A physician specializing in the ear, nose, and throat (ENT), Dr. James Frank Chmiel provides exceptional care to patients in Amherst, Tonawanda, Kenmore, Lockport and the Niagara Falls area of New York State. Dr. James Chmiel attended school at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 1990. Dr. Chmiel then attended the University at Buffalo (SUNY) School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and received his medical degree in 1994. After completing his education, he underwent training at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, first with a general surgery internship (including work on the trauma unit, the Burn Intensive Care Unit and the Neurosurgery Team) and then a five-year ENT residency. Upon completion of his training, Dr. James Chmiel returned to Upstate New York, where he entered group practice as a member of the Buffalo Otolaryngology Group for two years. Following his service to the group, he joined Amherst ENT LLC in the Buffalo suburb of Amherst, New York, as a Managing Member, a position he still holds today. In addition to these services, Dr. Chmiel currently leads the Ambulatory Surgical Center of Western New York in Amherst as a Medical Director. Alongside his private practice, he holds medical staff appointments in the Kaleida Health Hospital System, which includes the Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital and the Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. He also works for the organization ENT On-Call Specialists, LLC, as a Manager.
