Throughout her course of studies in medicine, Dr. Nancy Scheinost received recognition numerous times through different scholarships and awards. In 1983, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry, magna cum laude, from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She was also recognized by the university honors program and landed on the Dean’s List every semester from 1979 to 1983. In 1981, Nancy Scheinost, M.D., won an honors scholarship from the university, and she received the Panhellenic Scholarship Award every year from 1980 to 1983. Dr. Scheinost became a Phi Kappa Alpha Honorary in 1981 and an Alpha Lambda Delta Honorary the following year. Dr. Nancy Scheinost’s course of study began at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where she laid the groundwork for a career in medicine. Moving from there to study medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Dr. Scheinost completed her Doctor of Medicine degree in 1988 and completed her internship and residency at Good Samaritan Medical Center. Her final stop was at the University of California, San Diego, where she served as a Fellow working in the field of rheumatology. This area of medicine later emerged as one of Dr. Scheinost’s specialties, in addition to osteoporosis, autoimmune disease, and functional medicine. In 1996, Dr. Nancy Scheinost began working at Rheumatology of Brazos Valley, where she remains to this day. Prior to this, she served as an internist and rheumatologist at Sadler Clinic in Woodlands and Conroe, Texas, she regularly saw between 25 and 30 people every day. Between 1993 and 1995, she served as an on-call physician every third weekend at local hospitals. Nancy Scheinost, M.D., belongs to the Texas Medical Association, the Institute for Functional Medicine, and the American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM).
