Dr. Sumant Lamba

Based in Jacksonville, Florida, Sumant Lamba, MD, applies his expertise at First Coast Cardiovascular Institute, where he serves as Director of Coronary Interventions. As an interventional cardiologist and clinical investigator, he is well prepared for this position. Sumant Lamba, MD, brings a wealth of medical training and experience to the field of interventional cardiology. After completing his residencies and internships, Sumant Lamba, MD, attended the Wright State University School of Medicine to fulfill a fellowship in cardiology. After two years there, Sumant Lamba, MD, took his talents to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine to complete another fellowship in heart failure and cardiac transplantation. Then, in 2002, he moved to Kentucky to complete training in interventional cardiology with Dr. Bill Abraham, a well-known physician and one of the top heart failure specialists in the country.

As a testament to his breadth of knowledge in the field, Sumant Lamba, MD, has taught others in a variety of settings. Sumant Lamba, MD, has served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine in Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Assistant Professor of Medicine in Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Assistant Professor at the Good Samaritan Hospital, and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Wright State University.

Sumant Lamba, MD, has also made a number of presentations on subjects such as heart transplantation, management of acute decompensate heart failure, therapies in the management of congestive heart failure, and acute heart failure. In addition, Sumant Lamba, MD, has participated in and contributed to many articles and publications on important medical studies. He has contributed to research articles and publications such as “Congestive Heart Failure in the Elderly,” “New Developments in Heart Failure: Role of Endothelin and the Use of Endothelin Receptor Antagonists in Heart Failure,” and “Pathophysiology and Clinical Spectrum of Acute Congestive Heart Failure.”
