Dr Bret Wickstrom

Greenville, NC

Bret Wickstrom decided to become a chiropractor when he was at Northern Michigan University. As a football player he was originally intending to use his Sports Science degree to become a college football coach. After further study he found that there are two basic views of how and why the body works the way it does.

One view sees the human body as an accident or product of evolution. Essentially, you are nothing more than complex chemical primordial soup and because man is evolved to be the smartest and most intelligent creature. This worldview focuses more on removing symptoms. which is why removing organs via surgery or ingesting poisons to help neck and back pain is often used.

The second view, the view that Dr. Bret Wickstrom holds, sees the human body as an amazingly designed creation of an omnipotent God. Therefore, health is attained by keeping our body as close to the normal structure it was designed to have. This is done using structurally focused chiropractic and whole food nutrition. This view understands that a chiropractor does not heal a patient's neck pain or back pain but the patient's innate healing is already designed in him and needs only be allowed to work the way in was designed to.

This worldview is what attracted Dr Bret Wickstrom to become a chiropractor. Every day is a blessing to be able to correct spinal shifts in his patients, allowing them to function better and more closely to the way they were designed to. Structurally Focused Chiropractic is only removing the interference and stress on the nervous system to allow for what seems like miraculous healing.

In his spare time Dr. Bret Wickstrom enjoys finding ways to be a better chiropractor and better educated Greenville, NC about the need for Corrective Chiropractic Care and how it differs from pain care which only treats symptoms. He is also an advisor for the Miller Motte College in Greenville, North Carolina.
