Dr. Edison Mutsinzi

An accomplished researcher, lecturer, and physician, Edison Mutsinzi enjoys a diverse and successful career in medicine. Dr. Mutsinzi began practicing in 2000 at Mugonero District Hospital in Rwanda, after obtaining his MD from the National University of Rwanda. After a year at Mugonero District Hospital, he became a resident in ophthalmology, working at both St. Pierre and Brugmann Hospitals through his program at the Free University of Brussels. Dr. Mutsinzi undertook additional training in advanced ophthalmological surgery at South Africa's University of Pretoria from 2003 to 2004 and obtained his specialist degree in 2005. Three years later, he successfully passed the European Board of Ophthalmology Examination.

Dr. Edison Mutsinzi currently works as an Ophthalmologist at Campbellton Regional Hospital in New Brunswick, Canada. In addition to treating patients, he conducts research with his colleagues and publishes his findings in peer-reviewed medical journals. In 2011, he coauthored a report on retinal arterial macroaneurysms for Journal Francais d'Ophtalmologie. Dr. Mutsinzi also remains involved in the medical community through his affiliations with organizations such as the Canadian Ophthalmological Society, the Canadian Medical Association, the New Brunswick Medical Association, the French Society of Ophthalmology, and others. Dr. Mutsinzi attends conferences, including events sponsored by the Canadian Ophthalmological Society and the Atlantic Provinces Ophthalmological Society, to stay abreast of the latest medical developments.

When not busy assisting patients or participating in professional symposiums, Edison Mutsinzi relaxes by playing chess and listening to music. He also enjoys traveling. Dr. Mutsinzi speaks Swahili, Kinyarwanda, French, and English.
