Eileen Consorti

Possessing over a decade of experience practicing oncologic surgery, Dr. Eileen Consorti treats patients at her private practice in Berkeley, California. An authority in the field, she is the Chair of Surgery at the Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, where she previously held the position of the Chief of General Surgery and served on the Medical Executive Board. She also contributes as a staff member at the Summit Medical Center and Alameda Hospital. Committed to providing quality care to all people, Dr. Eileen Consorti has supported Operation Access since 2004 and contributed on multiple medical missions to the Philippines. In addition, she has instructed aspiring surgeons at the renowned University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine for the last eight years. Prior to initiating her own practice, Dr. Consorti worked as part of the Berkeley-based practice of Dr. Lisa Bailey and with Kaiser Permanente in Richmond, California. Throughout her career, Dr. Eileen Consorti has published numerous articles, abstracts, and book chapters on a range of topics, most of which center on breast and other forms cancer. Much of her original research was produced during her time in Houston, Texas, where she completed postgraduate training at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Consorti stays up-to-date with findings and developments in the field through her affiliation with various professional groups. She participates with the Society of Surgical Oncology, The American Society of Breast Surgeons, the Southwestern Surgical Congress, and the American College of Surgeons, among others. Prior to entering the medical field, Dr. Eileen Consorti dedicated more than a decade to obtaining a quality education. She began at San Diego State University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. Dr. Consorti then acquired her Master of Science in Chemistry at California State University before enrolling at Loyola University’s Stritch School of Medicine for her Doctor of Medicine. From 1993 to 1996, Dr. Eileen Consorti underwent an internship and residency in general surgery at the University of Minnesota Medical School before traveling to Houston to complete her training.
