Ellen Kerr

I am an experienced, enthusiastic and focused IT Teacher, a Student Enterprise Manager and an Entrepreneur leader who is committed to promoting digital education skills and well-being of young people at all times. I am passionate about giving young adults the best possible education in life, and enjoy working in a busy environment and relish the challenge of managing a diverse workload. I am able to establish a supportive relationship with not only students but also industry and fellow tutors all with the aim of promoting and reinforcing student independence and self-esteem. I am someone who is fundamentally committed to good practice and innovation and who is very much a team player. Always engaged in continuous learning in order to broaden my knowledge and experience, I am confident, passionate and enthusiastic about working with young people. I am currently looking for a challenging role that is only limited by the candidates drive and ambition. I have been involved within many projects, including mentoring 150 students in the iDEA Awards. I have managed a successful student-run IT shop and have trained many students to develop their skills and find future employment. It was this that inspired me to start a code club, and provide everyone with the chance to learn to code. I am a highly motivated person and have a strong passion for education.

Career Statement - Apart from my knowledge of current education legislation, practices and procedures, I feel that my greatest strengths are first my motivation and passion for embedding digital skills to our next generation and the ability to build sound relationships with staff and pupils. Secondly my skill at gaining a clear understanding of pupils exact needs, and thirdly my commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people at all times.
