Eugene Gorab began his career in 1985 when he accepted the position of a Project Engineer for Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. He held responsibility for the development of three facilities, located in Ohio, Ontario, and California, which produced liquid forms of nitrogen and oxygen. For his next professional pursuit, Eugene Gorab joined JMB Realty Corporation, where he served as an Acquisitions Officer and oversaw investments in apartment funds for the company. In 1991, Mr. Gorab and three partners founded Starwood Capital Group, where he became Managing Director. He spearheaded the company’s development and land groups, oversaw Starwood Asset Management, and contributed to the Investment Committee as a senior member. Eugene Gorab completed more than $2 billion worth of successful investments, including many acquisitions of distressed mortgages from the RTC. In addition, he served on Starwood Financial Trust’s Board of Trustees. In 1997, Eugene Gorab founded Greenfield Partners, LLC, which, through his vision and leadership, has become a major private equity real estate firm. Since founding the company, Eugene Gorab has secured more than $4 billion in capital from various private and institutional investors, and he has sponsored 9 investment funds through the company.
