Flux Trax is the solo project of Magne Hoven, member of Trondheim DJ Crew Midnattslauget and former member in synth-pop duo "We are monsters"

Musically Flux Trax is influenced by a childhood attending music school to learn to play electric organ but instead toying around with the rhythm box and being fascinated by the clangy sound of the spring reverb in some of these musical behemoths. This was also a time when the otherwordly sounds of Acid House started to appear, even in far flung corners of the world such as Trondheim, Norway's historical capital.

At the age of 13 he was the first winner of a national competition for young electro-acoustic composers with an otherwise lousy attempt at producing Acid House with one electronic organ, two tape-recorders and a cassette with the recording of sterling bird noises, unknowingly ending up sounding a bit like Alvin Lucier..

It was however with the availability of vst technology and his little brothers computer more than a decade later that more serious forays in music productions started to take place. This was also helped with both a bachelor and masters degree in Music Technology at NTNU.

The music is characterized by the use of many references from late 80's and 90's club house music combined with more modern beat structures that leans towards genres such as Moombahton and Afro-House. Several travels to South America has also led to the inclusion of elements from Cumbia, Currulao and Salsa. The often quite unusual timbres within several of the tracks stem from the use of found sounds and field recordings treated as instruments.

In October 2016 there will be a release in collaboration with fellow Trondheimer King George VIII called TAFKAMD4 with their alternative takes on the Moombahton genre, including influences from High-Life, Acid House, Gabber and 80's Deep House to name a few.

Flux Trax have also contributed with official remixes of Trondheim based bands such as Pelbo and Amish 82 on Riot Factory records.
