I am an award-winning author, commentator, lecturer, and religious scholar. Born and raised in Iran of Kurdish-Persian ancestry. I was born in Abadan, grew up in historical city of Isfahan, and left Iran when I was just 24 years of age and haven’t been back since. I have a duel Canadian and US Citizenship. Drawing from my diverse heritage I have dedicated my life to finding common ground between people of all faiths and backgrounds. I have been a leading commentator on cultural and religious affairs. In 2005, I published an award-winning memoir, Living in Hell, resulting in hundreds of radio and television interviews, including appearances on leading cable news networks such as Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, and CSPAN and interviewed around the world.
