James is an ITIL accredited Service Management professional with more than a decade of experience managing, mentoring and leading IT support teams in Outsource, Utilities, Media & Broadcast, Public Health and Tertiary Education environments. His accreditations include ITIL V2 Manager and V3 Expert.
Using the appropriate components of the ITIL & COBIT5 frameworks in hand with real world experience to deliver required improvements, James is able to plan and deliver IT Service Management improvements across Service Desks,support teams and companies at large, enabling continuous improvement whilst also delivering a stable operational environment.
James is an accomplished people manager, varying from small local teams to large multi-national teams, has many years exposure to successfully managing large multi-million dollar IT budgets and is experienced in strategic thinking to drive improvements and change.
Where required, James also provides mentoring to managers and team leaders to help develop the individuals in these roles.
He strongly believes in understanding the requirements to ensure that what is delivered is what is required, and wherever possible working with others to combine solutions, to reduce cost, time and effort.
James has spoken at itSMFnz conferences in New Zealand and globally as part of SDI’s TFT - Tomorrow’s Future Today / Shine 24 hour, on-line conferences and has recently been approached by global organisations to produce a series of articles and webinars on varying aspects of Service Management..
