Gib Olander

Gib Olander is currently Vice President of Product at SIM Partners where he is directing product strategy and execution with an emphasis on new product initiatives. Utilizing SaaS to offer scale, control and efficiency to fortune 500 brands who want to excel in search, social and mobile at the location level.

Prior to SIM Partners Gib was the Founder & CEO of Local Viewpoints a venture backed Customer Feedback SaaS startup which won the BIA Kelsey future stars award 2013 and was nominated in the Chicago Innovation Awards 2013.

Prior to founding Local Viewpoints Gib was at Localeze, where he led product strategy and market development as employee #3. During his tenure, Localeze invented and sold business listing identity management to over a million paying businesses and became the backbone of local search data for more than 300 local search platforms and applications. Gib ultimately exited when Localeze and its parent company, Targusinfo, were acquired by Neustar for $650 million in October 2011.

Over the past decade, Gib has become a recognized thought leader in local search and speaks frequently at search industry conferences including BIA/Kelsey, PubCon, SES and SMX. Additionally, he has written columns for Search Engine Land, MediaPost and Visibility Magazine.

Prior to joining Localeze, Gib was a business development director at iCrossing, helping major brands such as Proctor & Gamble, General Motors, General Mills and Toyota understand and participate in Organic Search Engine Optimization. He also held positions with Chicago.Citysearch.com, Ameritech Yellow Pages and Advo, helping SMBs market and grow their businesses via multiple forms of media.

Gib lives in Elmhurst, IL with his wife, Meg, and the wonder twins, Teddy and Julia. He enjoys baseball and coaching youth sports.
