Inspire Malibu is a Science and Evidence Based Non 12 Step Treatment Center specializing in Drug and Alcohol Addiction Rehab founded by Dr. Akikur Mohammad, M.D., a pioneer of addiction medicine and the non 12 step model.
Dr. Mohammad is board-certified in addiction medicine by the American Board of Addiction Medicine and in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
He serves as the Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at the University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine. He is also the Director of Medical Education at the LAC/USC Medical Center's Psychiatric Emergency Services department.
Who's Who in America named Dr. Mohammad the Top Addiction Professional of the Year in 2011. Prior to founding Inspire Malibu, Dr. Mohammad founded the Malibu Horizon Treatment Center, a research-based drug and alcohol treatment facility that focuses on dual-diagnosis treatment, patients with addiction and co-occurring disorders.
