Melinda van Nispen (spiritual name Janaki) spent several years practicing hatha yoga before being introduced to Sivananda yoga in Amsterdam. Although she embraces many forms of yoga, she felt a special calling to the Sivananda tradition that initially led her to spend a month at a Sivananda Ashram in 2010 in order to deepen her understanding and practice. From there Melinda completed her Sivananda Yoga Teaching Training in Uttarkashi, India in 2011. Through the practice of yoga she has gained a deeper sense of herself and the world around her. Melinda gains great joy from sharing her knowledge of the ancient practice of yoga. Janaki Yoga embraces a traditional method of teaching yoga with personal one-on-one (or group) instruction by Melinda van Nispen. A yoga class with Melinda encompasses the 4 of the 5 points of yoga: proper exercise, proper breathing, proper relaxation, and positive thinking and meditation. Currently, Melinda is teaching from her home in Williamstown and is also available to instruct you in the comfort of your own home.
