Jason Bouvier

Jason Bouvier of Bristol, Connecticut, most recently served as Physical Education Teacher at Woodside Intermediate School in Cromwell. He possesses a strong understanding of the physiological connection between the mind and body. Working with students from grades three through five, Jason Bouvier implemented the “Miracle-Gro” program to demonstrate the relationship between physical education and enhanced test scores in reading and mathematics. In addition to coordinating coursework and assessing student progress, he also engaged in fundraisers and other after-school activities. Prior to his time at Woodside Intermediate School, Jason Bouvier held employment as Assistant Teacher at Northwest Village School-Wheeler Clinic in Plainville. This position included valuable experience with troubled and learning-disabled students, which encompassed participation in behavior-management workshops and lesson planning.

Complementing his career in teaching, Jason Bouvier has enjoyed roles as a volunteer football and baseball coach for teenagers in Bristol. He also acted as a counselor and coach with the Giamatti Little League Baseball Camp, which is also located in Bristol. At the camp, he monitored daily activities for children ages 8 to 17, administering weekly evaluations and assisting with daily practice, drills, and games for attendees. Jason Bouvier studied at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Education and graduated with a 3.14 grade point average.

He currently holds certification in physical education and health education for students from kindergarten through 12th grade in the state of Connecticut, having passed his Praxis 1 Examination in 2005 and Praxis 2 Examination in 2008. Jason Bouvier is a member of the Connecticut Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (CTAHPERD), and he is certified in American Red Cross Standard First Aid and Adult, Child, and Infant CPR. Jason Bouvier’s passion for sports and fitness carries over into his personal life; he is an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, University of Connecticut Huskies, and New York Mets.
