Jeffrey Tocci

Jeffrey Tocci brings nearly two decades of experience to his work as an aesthetic, cosmetic, reconstructive and preventive dentist at Tocci Dental Associates. Dr. Tocci oversees the practice, which includes a team of four hygienists, four administrative staff members, and three assistants. The practice, based in Wellesley, Massachusetts, provides general and specialty dental services, including general, cosmetic, and sports dentistry.

Although sports medicine is a well-known offshoot of orthopedic medicine, sports dentistry is a more specialized field. It includes the prevention and treatment of injuries to the mouth sustained due to athletic activity. Dr. Tocci recommends wearing a mouth guard for virtually any sport in which the teeth will be in harm’s way. Although mouth guards are mandated in contact sports like football and lacrosse, soccer players are actually more likely than even hockey players to receive an injury to the mouth or face, and only a small percentage of soccer players generally wear mouth guards.

As prevention is the most important aspect of sports dentistry, Jeffrey Tocci welcomes athletes to come to Tocci Dental Associates to be fitted for a custom mouth guard. This protection is worthwhile even for sports like water polo, skiing, and surfing. A sports fan himself, Jeffrey Tocci enjoys playing golf and coaching Little League baseball when not working at his dental practice.

Trained in multiple disciplines of dental medicine, Jeffrey Tocci attended Boston College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and graduated cum laude in 1981. He went on to complete his DDS at the Georgetown University School of Dentistry. Dr. Tocci also earned a dental implantology certificate from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and has completed advanced training in osseointegration, dental implantology, and oral conscious sedation.
