Jill Pankey

Jill Pankey holds a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary studies from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi, and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at San Antonio. An award-winning artist in the Austin and San Antonio areas. She has judged art shows and has spoken about her work at several galleries and exhibitions. She has been teaching art and fitness within universities for more than two decades, and most recently served as a senior lecturer with the School of Art and Design at Texas State University. Jill Pankey retired from the position in 2013 and has since focused her energy on her own personal art and gallery work.
Throughout her artistic career, Ms. Pankey has been a part of several exhibitions around Texas, including other states such as La Posada Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In her early art career, she functioned as a graphic artist for KIII TV in Corpus Christi, Texas, and also spent time working as a volunteer police sketch artist. Additionally, she served as a designer and illustrator for many businesses, such as Company’s Coming and created the cover design for the National Annual ASHA Conferences from 2008 to 2010. Ms. Pankey gains inspiration for her artwork from what she observes around her. Because of her years in the fitness world, she is inspired by and celebrates the female body in her paintings across the spectrum of ages and types through the use of bright colors and positive imagery.
