Hello World!

I'm a cyber security expert who knows how and why great technology creates business value. Adding competitive advantages and smartly managing risk and reputation is easy to type, but challenging to implement.

I've worked in internet technology for 2 decades and have continuously gathered and updated certifications - I'm a CISSP, CISM, and MCSE with 9 other technology certifications. I've completed the ITIL V.3 certification, and the American Banking Association’s Bank Supervisor Certification. I graduated from Thomas Edison State College, have attended Appalachian State University, Tufts University Graduate School, Norwich University Graduate School, and has also completed coursework from Notre Dame, MIT and Stanford University.

Technology information and knowledge is a gallon of milk: nutritious and tasty when new, stale and sickening when old. It comes with an expiration date. Is it expired? Maybe it will work or maybe you will get sick. It probably won't taste great and fresh milk is way cheaper than an upset stomach.

I am a decorated and honorably discharged veteran of both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps. Sometimes I require more than one lesson to learn something but I did learn to avoid repeating mistakes.

What is there beyond education? Experience. I've consulted and worked for local, regional, national and international clients that include Deloitte, BellSouth, Wachovia, Wells Fargo, First Union, Dow Jones Interactive, Porsche, the Pentagon, General Motors, Dow Chemical, Union Carbide, The National Restaurant Association, Chrysler, Golden West, World Savings Bank, MITRE and others.

I have founded and sold 2 internet companies, and worked in and on the internet for over 2 decades. I am an information security manager by day, and I continuously provide web, internet, technology, media and an assortment of digital consulting services. I have also edited two technology books.
