Attorney John A. Balent draws on almost four decades of legal experience to lead his Brea, California, family law practice. With a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UCLA, he pursued his juris doctor at Pepperdine University and has since been admitted to the family law section of the State Bar of California. Involved in his community, John A. Balent established the Placentia Presbyterian Church Soup Kitchen in 1989. The kitchen continues to provide weekly meals to those in need, and it also hosts an annual Thanksgiving meal. Mr. Balent’s charitable efforts have taken him to New Orleans, where he assisted Presbyterian Disaster Relief in repairing homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Mr. Balent also works to support underserved communities in Baja, Mexico, through his church’s sponsorship of the El Sauzal Orphanage.

Additionally, Mr. Balent enjoys traveling and has explored much of the western United States in his Volkswagen camper. He remains most fond of the culinary specialties and scenic atmosphere offered by the Mural Dining Room at Grand Teton National Park.
