John Cutchin

The President and sole practitioner of John F. Cutchin, P.A., in Newton, North Carolina, attorney John Cutchin represents clients primarily in traffic, domestic, and criminal courts. Serving Catawba and Lincoln Counties, he also holds admittance to practice before the U.S. District Court, Western District of North Carolina. The skilled attorney's practice areas include criminal matters, marital property division, child custody and support, adoption, personal injury, traffic offenses, and wills and estates. A member of the Catawba County, Lincoln County, and North Carolina Bar Associations, he served on the Board of Directors of the Newton Merchant's Association and the Women's Resource Center. Currently, John Cutchin sits on the board of Sipe's Orchard Home, which supports children through a variety of programs. He also serves as a certified Family Financial Mediator. Recognized as an Outstanding Young Man of America in 1982 and listed in Who's Who in American Law since 1998, Mr. Cutchin was rated as a "Superb Attorney" in 2011 by AVVO, Inc. In addition, John F. At Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina, Mr. Cutchin joined the Sigma Nu Fraternity and worked at public radio station WDAV while earning a Bachelor of Arts in English. He completed his Juris Doctorate degree at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mr. Cutchin began his legal career in 1975, serving as the Public Administrator of Estates of Catawba County. He opened his solo practice in 1978. Active at the Episcopal Church of St. Peter by-the-Lake, he sits on the Fiscal Advisory Committee and taught Sunday School in the past. His other interests include boating, reading, and promoting the Half Dozen Brass Band.
