John Lupiano

A New York physician for more than two decades, John Lupiano, M.D., maintained a private practice on West 49th Street in Manhattan until 2011. He has not practiced medicine since 2011. Focusing on diverse aspects of general preventive medicine and internal medicine, Dr. John Lupiano additionally held a teaching appointment with the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine. He maintained affiliation with St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital as an Attending Physician. From 1988 to 2001, Dr. Lupiano held a variety of responsibilities with St. Clare’s Hospital and Health Center. In addition to serving as Attending Physician with the hospital’s Department of Medicine, he undertook duties as Clinical Supervisor until 1997. He notably fulfilled responsibilities as St. Clare’s Family Health Center’s Medical Director for four years, and served as the Employee Health Service department’s Chief Physician for two years. From 1990 to 2007, Dr. Lupiano also maintained a position as Attending Physician in the Substance Abuse Unit at the Medical Arts Center Hospital. He also undertook research and worked to ensure effective Prison Health Services screening for syphilis, tuberculosis, and intravenous drug abuse. Dr. John Lupiano earned his M.D. at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine, subsequently completing an internship and residency at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Lupiano had Diplomate status with the American Board of Internal Medicine, and the American Board of Public Health and Preventive Medicine.
