John Park

President and Chief Executive Officer of the Renaissance Capital Inc. Group of Companies (RCI Group), John Park is an expert in corporate finance, negotiations, project management, international business development, and risk management. In addition to his work at RCI Group, John Park is strongly involved with Canada’s First Nations communities and serves on the Aboriginal Opportunities Committee with the Vancouver Board of Trade.

Between 1988 and 1991, John Park worked as a research analyst at Continental Carlyle, specializing in natural resource investment opportunities within Canada’s leading commercial industries. In 1991, the organization was acquired by Yorkton Securities, where Park served as Investment Advisor until 1995. He worked primarily in Canada’s energy and resource departments with a focus on providing corporations with investment advice. He specifically handled risk mitigation, expansion strategies, capital market services, and corporate acquisitions.

In addition to his current roles as President and CEO, Park is the Founding Principal of RCI Group, which is a privately-held organization with a focus in financial services. The international firm has offices in the United States, Korea, Mongolia, China, and India, and offers services in investment banking and financial management. Park builds the company’s marketing and business strategies, handles client relations, and negotiates contracts with both suppliers and clients. In addition, he has specialized knowledge in investment banking and mergers and acquisitions.

Park is also Founding Director of the Canada Korea Foundation, an association with a focus on strengthening the social, political, and economic ties between Canada and Korea. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Calgary, and in 2002 he graduated from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
