Josette Ferrer

Josette Ferrer utilized her more than 15 years of industry experience to establish Clairent Advisors in 2010. Ferrer currently acts as a Managing Director of the San Francisco-based consultancy firm, which offers a comprehensive suite of valuation services. Together with her team of professionals, she determines the worth of a full spectrum of asset and business classes for financial reporting, tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, litigation support, and bankruptcies and restructurings for corporate clients. Recognized as a leader in the industry, Ferrer regularly speaks at industry gatherings for leading professional organizations, including Financial Executives International (FEI), the Practising Law Institute, and BIOCOM. She will be presenting on goodwill impairment testing issues at an upcoming event hosted by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) in December 2011. A longtime resident of Northern California, Josette Ferrer attended the University of California, Berkeley for her undergraduate studies, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University’s Haas School of Business. She began her career in valuation as an Associate with Ernst & Young LLP, and subsequently joined Arthur Andersen LLP where she eventually became a Senior Manager. She joined Huron Consulting Group as a Director when Andersen’s San Francisco valuation team became a part of Huron. In 2004, Ferrer accepted a position as a Managing Director of Wealth & Tax Advisory Services (now known as WTAS LLC), then an HSBC USA, Inc., subsidiary, where she established and ran the San Francisco valuation team. Following two years in this position, Ferrer joined Kroll Inc., a sister company of the insurance broker Marsh Inc., as a Managing Director of the Valuation Services Practice. She garnered a promotion to U.S. Practice Leader of Valuation Services at Marsh before establishing Clairent Advisors.
