Kathleen Blackwell is a classically trained pianist with two degrees from University of Texas, joined SONY CLASSICAL in Hollywood and then the pop artist spirit hit.Blackwell’s debut "To Be Human" album was produced by Ronan Chris Murphy — King Crimson, Tony Levin, Nels Cline, Robert Fripp, GWAR — and was nominated for ‘Album Of The Year’ in Adult Contemporary for the LA Music Awards."Drawing influence from Tori Amos, the classically trained Blackwell makes quite an impression on the piano-based ‘I Don't Know.’ Her edgier side is revealed on ‘Imago,’ but seduces listeners on the breathless, jazzy title-track, ‘To Be Human.’" —David Byrne / Windy City Times / Pop Making SenseWorking again with Producer Ronan Chris Murphy, Blackwell’s follow-up takes a new sound direction — Hard-Rock Dance-Pop — and is an analog-recorded album. Blackwell wrote ‘Alive & Free’ as her motto is "Live life to the fullest; no matter what your age."Currently residing in Austin, Kathleen Blackwell has evolved into a multi-dimensional, artist-entrepreneur writing and recording music all over the world while working on importing her own brand of Eléctrico Mezcal, from Oaxaca, Mexico.
