Katie Yeakle is a 20 year veteran of the writing industry. She's held every job imaginable in that time, from editing, to publishing, web content writing and even a stint as a copywriter. Katie Yeakle graduated from the University of Florida in 1994. After which she found trouble as a freelance writer, when it come to finding consistent employment.
This led her to create American Writers & Artists Inc.
This corporation is dedicated to providing resources for upstart freelance writers and graphic artists, so that they can be better prepared for finding new job opportunities. Providing both job listing and career advice, Katie Yeakle works with her agency to help others in the field.
She has personally created more than 100 guides and instructional pamphlets detailing how to get your start in the freelance field. She still works with AWAI, and is still coming up with new ways to help freelance writers find more consistent employment.
