I working on my PhD at the University of Minnesota. My dissertation research is on highly skilled and highly educated scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs in Berlin, Germany, with specific focus on experiences of multiculturalism and various understandings of the local, global and virtual. I am interested in exploring discourses on technology, progress, immigration, belonging and the nation as they relate to the daily lives of people living in Berlin, particularly highly skilled immigrants. Additionally, my work examines ideas and imaginings of technology, innovation and progress for those working in science and engineering fields. In addition to my current research, I am interested in exploring how humans imagine, create, and dream.
