Lucas (Lou) Ventino

The former Vice President of Global Trade Development for Oracle, Mr. Lucas Ventino currently leads efforts in overseeing the international trade value chain for Microsoft Corporation. As Senior Director of Global Trade, Lou Ventino plays an integral role in ensuring that Microsoft maintains compliance with global regulations for trade. Experienced in export and customs compliance, standards, and policy activities, Lou Ventino and his team develop innovative, efficient solutions to ensure the company’s overall trade compliance. Even outside of his work with Microsoft, Lou Ventino strives to communicate a thorough understanding of the benefits and complexities of E-trade and E-governments. As such, Lou Ventino developed and directed the APEC Forum on E-government. He is widely respected for his extensive efforts to educate and help advance understanding of global trade regulations and their impact to the international business environment. He has be instrumental in demonstrating how cross-border trade paractice are a key factor in programs that strive for efficiency in the global value chain. Lou Ventino has contributed to a multitude of publications, including “Roadmap for E-Government in the Developing World.” Likewise, Lou Ventino has participated in numerous conferences centered on trade policy. Seattle, Washington-resident Lou Ventino is dedicated to helping others through a variety of endeavors. Currently, Lou Ventino serves on the Board of Directors for Ready by Five; an organization designed to foster and improve learning readiness in preschool-age children.
