Luba Vangelova

Washington, DC

Analytical and creative, I'm an ENTP who's fascinated by how the world works. I earned a degree in systems engineering and worked for IBM, then found my true calling in communications. I've freelanced for many media outlets (e.g. The New York Times, Smithsonian, CNNSI.com, and National Geographic Traveler) and also handled marketing communications for some large and not-so-large nonprofits and businesses.

All told, I've lived in seven countries on five continents, and traveled in many more. I still love adventures, but closer to home is just fine.

Right now, I'm working on a range of consulting projects, and reading and writing about my latest passion: the future of education (aiming to tell the big stories that deserve more attention; see The Atlantic, KQED MindShift, and Salon links below).

I'm also creating an online hub for the new era of learning (http://www.scoop.it/t/new-era-of-learning) and working on a book about self-directed learning.
