Maria  Nieto

Maria Nieto is a Colombian-American Writer/Producer who is producing original Latino themed content for television and film. She is the Executive Producer of the feature film “A Song and A Prayer” and its accompanying soundtrack of original Gospel music, both currently in post-production.

Along with her producing partner, Hugo Fernandez, her current roster of projects include comedic and dramatic concepts for television as well the feature film screenplay titled “Joaquin,” based on the real man behind the Zorro legend. Currently, she is in production on the feature film "Matanza: Survival of the Killest," a horror genre film with a Latino twist.

She is a member of MENSA & Intertel as well as of the Writer’s Guild of America and she sits on the board of the Women in the Arts and Media Coalition, representing the WGA.

She has appeared as a Latin entertainment industry pundit on Huffington Post Live and has both written, and been interviewed for, articles addressing issues relevant to the Latino entertainment community. She also appeared on the "Latinas Chat Media" roundtable conversation centering on the state of Latinos in the media.
