Marya Sutimi

Marya Sutimi is an Indonesian who was born on February 11th, 1989 in Bandung. The daughter of U. Sutimo, an entrepreneur and Nonoh Maryamah, a homemaker. She is the eldest daughter of three children in the family. Uun Sutini, her younger sister, is working as Account Officer for Lowe Indonesia. Akin Indra Sutomo, the youngest of the family, is now on his sophomore year in high school.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

In her early childhood, she attended SDN Banjarsari and SMP Taruna Bakti. She has chosen Social Class major in her High School year at SMAN 20 Bandung. In 2007, she began her study majoring in International Relations at Parahyangan Catholic University. She finished her study in June 2011 with thesis topic about "The Cultural Diplomacy of Serbia and Croatia in the Post Yugoslav Era".

ACTIVITIES

Foreign language interests her, so it is fair to say that foreign language is her biggest passion. She had been autodidact to teach herself English, started when she was twelve. She learned English at school, but it never really worked out. By the age of twelve, she started to watch football and she idolized Michael Owen. This was the only reason why she thought she had to learn English, and then she learned English by herself with the help of medias such as dictionary, magazine, novels or movies.

In 2010, she got the scholarship for summer course to learn Turkish in Ankara University. She stayed in Izmir, Turkey for the summer course and she had reached Temel 2 of certifiied Turkish basic education.

During her university, she had worked as part-time English-Bahasa Indonesia translator and also staff in Mow'zeik Wedding Organizer.

After graduating from university, she worked as Liaison Officer for SEA Games 2010 prior to her work as Guest Service Assistant in PT. Indonesia AirAsia. In 2013, she joined Air Atlant Icelandic as Cabin Crew Member based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Earlier in 2015, she decided to come back home to join The British Institute as Corporate Sales Officer.
