Newly diagnosed NCGI in April 2012. Went gluten free before they got around to testing me so I don't have the correct diagnosis of Celiac disease. I still call myself a Celiac because of my family history. I have had to make major life changes without medical help because my doctors know nothing of this disease. PaleONeil is my blog about my journey to healing after 47 years of gluten damage. Please make sure you read about my struggle with my doctors. I also promote Celiac Awareness because of my messed up diagnosis. Doctors need to be educated about this disease because it is said 1/133 people have Celiac disease and 97% are UNDIAGNOSED!!
MichigAndi is my Jewelry. I have been an artist my whole life. :) I go crazy if I don't have a creative outlet. I bead, do wire work, bead-weaving, stamping, kumihimo, resin, and make jewelry out of antique buttons and antique silverplate. I was also the head cookie decorator for Cookie Bouquet people for 7 years (yup-the toxic flour) and I am also a licensed nail tech who had to put her sculpting brush away when she moved up north to a rural community. I keep my license up, I'd love to be able to go back to it some day.
I live with my hubby and my 4 furkids. a boxer and 3 rescue kitty-monsters in Northern Lower Michigan (NLP MI). My life pretty much revolves around my healing right now. I have always been a busy bee in the kitchen- things are just different now! I have been making my own probiotic foods- Kombucha tea, Water kefir, SCD legal Greek yogurt, Sour pickles, and kraut so far! They can take the baker out of me but that won't break me! :)
In my spare time? I GOLF! WAHOO! GOBUBBA!!
Update: I've left the rural life. Took control of my future once I was healed and strong again. I was dying up there during the 6 months of winter hibernation. Divorced my toxic spouse & moved 1400 miles away to the FL Gulf coast near my cousin. I love it here :) Looking for a nail tech position in an upscale salon in the area. Life is good!!
