An accomplished financial services professional, Nicholas Vita is a co-founder and senior partner at Apelles Investment Management (AIM) for the past seven years. He and the AIM team source and manage diverse transactions that include late-stage health care venture investments, mezzanine and private equity financings, and various types of debt. Nicholas Vita serves on the firm’s management and investment committees, and has spearheaded investments in the privatized military housing and lodging infrastructure sectors through AIM's Special Purpose Investment Vehicle, AP-III.

Vita completed his bachelor’s degree in political science at Columbia University in the mid-1990s and soon after accepted a role as mergers & acquisitions and investment banking analyst with S.G. Warburg & Co., Inc. From 1997 to 2002, he held a number of positions with Goldman, Sachs & Co., Inc., including vice president in the Investment Banking Division’s Health Care Department. A member of transaction teams spanning three continents, he completed in excess of three dozen transactions totaling more than $14 billion in value.

Nicholas Vita has a longstanding interest in nanotechnology and open-source technologies. He is a co-founder of the Copyleft Group and Tuva Capital Partners, has served as a guest lecturer at Columbia Business School and participated as a panelist for the Foresight Institute.
